WHAT IS A POKER HAND?
In the exquisite game of poker, each player is dealt with a set of cards from the deck at the different intervals during gameplay and these cards make up what is called “a poker hand”.

Poker hands each posses a rank and the game is won when these hands are revealed, compared and ranked.
In Texas Hold’Em, there are starting hands (also known as hole cards) that are considered best as well as final hands that are considered best. In this article, we will be exploring the best starting hands and hand rankings.
BEST STARTING HANDS
Although some starting hand rankings are trivial, we and most poker players say that the list of 5 starting hands below are the best starting hands in Poker!
- Pocket Aces: This is made up of an Ace of Spades and an Ace of Hearts!
- Pocket Kings: This is made up of King of Spades and a King of Clubs
- Pocket Queens: This is made of of a Queen of Hearts and a Queen of spades.
- Pocket Jacks: This is made of of a Jack of Hearts and a Jack of Spades
Ace Kings Suited: This is made of an Ace of Spades and a King of Spades

BEST TEXAS HOLD’EM HANDS
1: ROYAL FLUSH:
The royal flush is the best hand one can get in the game of poker. It is made up of an ace, king, queen, Jack and ten from the same suit.
2: THE STRAIGHT FLUSH:
This is also an extremely rare and extremely strong hand in the game of poker. It is made up of any sequential set of numbers of the same suit. E.g. 4,5,6,7,8 of Hearts makes a straight flush.
3: FOUR OF A KIND:
This is made up of four cards of equal value(e.g aces, tens, eights etc) and another card that’s called the side card. An example of a four of a kind is four Kings and a Queen.
4: FULL HOUSE:
This consists of three cards of one value and two cards of another value. A full house example is three ace of Spades and two Kings.
This is a hand of cards that’s not in sequential order but all from the same suit. Example is 8,4,3,5,7 cards that are Spades.
A straight has five cards of that appear in sequential order but not of the same suit.
7: THREE OF A KIND:
This consists of 3 cards of the same value and 2 other (side) cards of different values.
8: TWO PAIR:
This is a hand that consists of two cards of the same value, another two cards of the same value, and one extra card.
This hand consists of a pair of cards of equal value and three other cards.
10: HIGH CARD:
A high card is when you have random cards that don’t interact with each other in anyway.
These rankings are usually based off of probability and are ranked based on how possible it is to achieve. In cases where cards of the same rank appear, the strength of the cards in the hand determine how it ranks over others.
